What We Do..

To help serve and protect our community.

Community Patrol

MCSU is an unarmed uniformed civilian volunteer group dedicated to safe streets and neighborhoods. Members do not possess police powers or authority. M.C.S.U. Patrols the streets of Hazel Park being extra eyes and ears for the police Department. We uses high quality police radios to communicate with our base run out of the City of Hazel Park's Community and Recreation Building as well as direct Communication with Hazel Park Police dispatch.

Community Protection

Community Support - M.C.S.U. provides services for community special events, such as surveillance at city and school functions. Memorial Day Parade, Graduation and more. M.C.S.U. can be asked to respond in emergency situations. Down power wires or assist the police in traffic control. M.C.S.U. assistance allows emergency first responders to handle the emergency while M.C.S.U. assists with traffic and crowd control. Downed trees and power lines are a danger to the residence of the city. M.C.S.U. can respond to these situations to help provide protection until the necessary utility crews arrive to repair the situation. Over the years M.C.S.U. Volunteers have saved the city tens of thousands of dollars for the city so Police, Fire and DPW crews can do their jobs safely and productively.
